WE LIVE! Memories of Resistance

Tuesday, September 15, 2020 - Sunday, November 29, 2020

WE LIVE! Memories of Resistance has opened at OXY Arts in Los Angeles and will run until November 29! We invite you to take a self-guided 3D virtual tour of the exhibition—live now, link in bio.
WE LIVE! Memories of Resistance is a group exhibition of In Plain Sight artists that engages the contemporary political stakes of historical remembrance and collective memory. The exhibition features the work of artists Felipe Baeza, Margarita Cabrera, Sonya Clark, Beatriz Cortez, Sky Hopinka, Cannupa Hanska Luger, In Plain Sight Coalition, Alberto Lule, Maria Maea, Karen Martinez, Guadalupe Rosales, Dread Scott, Tina Takemoto, and Devon Tsuno. Curated by Kyle Stephan and Paulina Lara, this is the first In Plain Sight exhibition following the initial activation over Independence Day Weekend 2020.

Oxy Arts’ partnership with In Plain Sight commenced this summer with their support for our sky-writing intervention. This exhibition is part of IPS’s social impact campaign which employs cultural partnerships and programming to educate people on issues of immigrant justice and to engage them in the campaigns of our organizational partners to abolish immigrant detention. The exhibition will include a series of public talks, performances, and community based organizing workshops. https://www.oxy.edu/events/2020/09/we-live-memories-resistance
